Peppadew Bocconcini Bites

Peppadew Bocconcini Bites are a delightful combination of the mild version of the sweet spicy peppers, mini bocconcini, basil and balsamic vinegar.

According to Wikipedia, Peppadew is the brand name of sweet spicy peppers which were discovered in 1993 and  are grown in South Africa.

I first tasted Peppadew Piquante Peppers on a sample day at my local deli.  They are addictive.  The hot version packs quite a bite, but the mild version leaves you with a subtle heat.

For a variation of this appetizer that has no heat, substitute grape or cherry tomatoes for the peppers.

With summer on the way, I have started my herb pot which resides just outside my backyard door, for quick access to basil and parsley.  Growing herbs off the ground in a pot with marigolds, seems to keep them free of pests.
