Cooking Bag Pork Chops

Cooking Bag Pork Chops

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 4 pork loin chops
  • 2/3 cups applesauce
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup dairy sour cream
  • 8 - 10 cremini or white mushrooms (sliced into 1/4 inch slices)
  • 1 Pkg dry onion soup mix
  • 1 Medium sized cooking bag

Directions

Season the pork chops with your favourite pork seasoning. I like the Keg's chicken and rib seasoning.
Cooking Bag Pork Chops - season the chops
Prepare the applesauce (recipe follows) or you can use purchased applesauce.
Mix the applesauce, white wine, sour cream and onion soup mix together.
Cooking Bag Pork Chops - the sauce
Pour into the cooking bag. Add the pork chops and mushrooms. Gently mix them together. Tie the end of the bag with the twister provided. Make 5 or 6 small slashes in the top of the bag to allow the steam to be released. Place in a baking dish large enough to hold the entire filled cooking bag.
Cooking Bag Pork Chops - ready to bake
Bake at 350 deg F for 45 minutes. Carefully open the top of the bag by cutting a large slash. Remove the chops to a platter.
Cooking Bag Pork Chops
Scoop the mushroom sauce to a gravy boat to pass. It is very nice served with rice or roasted or mashed potatoes.
