- 2 Cups whipping cream
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 1/2 vanilla bean (fruit of an orchid that goes through a fermentation process. Most of them come from the region of Madagascar)
- demerera or fine crystal sugar (to carmelize)
