Make Way for Green Beans!

Green Beans

It’s Green Bean season and the local Farmer’s market has many growers selling them.  Because there are multiple plantings, fresh bean season lasts well into September.

I like my green beans plain and simple.  Cook them whole for about 7 minutes or until tender crisp and then add butter and salt and pepper.

 

Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 1 Quart fresh green beans
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Wash the beans and snip or break off the tips.
Green Beans
Bring a pot of water to boil. Add the beans, cover and boil for about 7 minutes,. Remove one and it should easily be cut in half by a fork.
Green Beans
Drain the beans and toss with the butter and salt and pepper.
